Meridith Valiando bio
|
| |
Meridith Valiando brings the spirit of old-fashioned ‘song plugging’ to her job as A & R Manager, pitching songs to a long list of artists, producers, managers and record label A&R execs. Working closely with the company’s diverse songwriter roster, she does everything from making writers aware of artists and film/television producers looking for material to arranging collaborations, studio time and writer retreats. Meridith also travels the country, scouting for promising new songwriters, writer/artists and producers.
Beginning her career at sixteen, Meridith held a string of internships at major labels in all departments before finding her passion for A&R and music publishing. As the youngest intern at Clive Davis’ J Records, she spent two years assisting in both Strategic Marketing and Film/TV. When J and RCA came together, she continued her work in the labels’ Publicity department, gaining experience in another important facet of the business. After graduating from the inaugural class of the Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music at Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, Meridith first interned for Wiz Kid Management (The Strokes) and then transitioned to Columbia Records as an A&R scout.
