Alex Shenitsky got his start booking hardcore and metal shows at The Chance Theater in Poughkeepsie, NY in 1999. One year later, he started touring as a drum and guitar tech for the bands Hatebreed, Madball and Skarhead. When touring in a van finally took its toll, Alex started working for a Fein Martini Management. There he worked with the bands Good Charlotte and My Morning Jacket. After working at A Fein Martini for about a year he took a job doing field marketing for Island Def Jam.
At IDJ, Alex started off by running the Street Team for the label. Not long after moving to IDJ, Alex switched rolls and moved to the A&R Dept. working for Rob Stevenson (The Killers, Fall Out Boy, Sum 41, Saliva). While working under Stevenson, Alex signed his first band Monty Are I to Stolen Transmission Records (a Joint Venture with Island and Rob Stevenson). Since then Alex has been an A&R for both Island and Stolen Transmission, signing the bands PlayRadioPlay!, Takota, The 88, and others. The Horrors.
